tiny feet and hands

Back in July I attempted to make baker's clay.

It looked good before I baked it, but afterwards it rose slightly making it hard to define everything.

Maybe I'll try a polymer clay next time.

meet our girl

She arrived 4 weeks early on June 22 at 5:37pm. She was 6lbs 3oz, 19 inches long.

To say we were ready would by lying. We had nothing ready. My bags weren't packed, no nursery, no crib...but we made it. And we are very slowly getting things together. We put her crib together! But still need her mattress, and a dresser. One small step at a time.

I'll be back to share more - birth story (still writing this) and how we are all dealing with becoming a family of 4.

Getting close! Less than 10 weeks!

and yet, nothing has been done in preparation for this baby. I guess that's how it goes with a second baby?

Almost into the 3rd trimester! Can't wait to meet our little girl.

baby elephant

I've started a new knitting project. I'm attempting to make a baby elephant! I've never done anything like this before - I'm usually just a hat and scarf kind of knitter. So we'll see how this goes...

Those are the ears. I've knitted 7 of the 17 pieces, so I've got 10 to go. I need to go buy more yarn though, I ran out tonight. Ooops.

Wish me luck! I'm especially nervous about sewing all the pieces together. I just hope it looks like an elephant when I'm done.

surprise lantern

I wanted a fun way to reveal the gender to some of my best friends, so I attempted to make one of these surprise lanterns. It looked good and turned out quite well, but the confetti release wasn't quite as strong.

I'm not sure if it was too much fringe at the bottom, but hardly any confetti came out when we pulled the string. We had to do a little more shaking to get confetti to fall from the lantern. It was still fun and exciting, but I wish it was more of a confetti explosion.

I still love the lantern. It's sweet and pretty and will now make a new home in our baby girl's nursery.

Tomorrow we find out the gender of our baby. I'm so excited!!!

At first I was all girl girl girl, but the thought of another sweet little boy has grown on me.

I can't believe we're halfway through this pregnancy!

week 19 of 40

This week I have started feeling you a little more regularly. It’s the best feeling ever.

Your brother and I both battled a stomach bug, but I think we’re all finally getting better.

Next Friday we get to find out if we’ll be welcoming a sweet little girl or another little boy. We’re so excited. Hope you’re doing well in there! Continue growing strong and healthy!
