The day started off with our hair appointment at 10 am. Then at noon we arrived at the venue, where my M.O.H. and I started to get ready.
Doing my own makeup was something I decided from the beginning. I didn't want to look too made-up, but I wanted to look special on my wedding day. So a few months prior to the wedding, I went to Saks 5th Avenue to get some advice and tips on applying makeup. I never had much experience and I was always intimidated by my asian eyelids. I felt like my results were good - natural looking, but noticeable.
Oddly enough, my final choice of dress was probably the farthest from the first image I had when I started to look for my dress. BUT, I love it!
I made my jewelry for the wedding day. I'm not a very flashy person, so I thought small white agate beads would look beautiful with my dress. I ended up not wearing the necklace because we felt it took away from the neckline of my dress.
I found these cute polka dot shoes on zappos. and I really love them. Then we found a cute polka dot tie for T to match.
and I knew I couldn't last all day in heels, so I bought these adorable flats.

our wedding: details details details
I'd like to extend a huge THANK YOU to Laurie Cinotto because honestly most of my DIY projects came from her creative mind, via her weekly DIY series on Once Wed.
{and we decided to make our own chalkboards from old picture frames}
{napkin rings}
{our red hot favors}
{our cakes and magnet favors}
{and those felt hearts made into a lovely wreath}
{our paper beauties were mostly all white with pops of colored ones every now and then}

our wedding: flowers
All I can say is WOW. A friend of ours offered to do all my wedding day flowers as a gift. I met and talked with her about 3 times to show her pictures of ideas I liked and to discuss color. I knew that I wanted an all gerbera bouquet for myself and for my maid of honor to have an all white bouquet. Other than that, I wasn't one of those brides with a particular list of flowers to include in all of her arrangements. So honestly, I had no idea how anything was going to look when I arrived at the venue. Even my bouquet was a surprise because she wasn't sure she'd be able to pull it off (we had discussed backup possibilities just in case).
So needless to say, when I arrived at the venue I was amazed. Everything looked perfect. All the boys had gerbera bouts and I had my gerbera bouquet.
