our advent calendar
I meant to post this yesterday, but today marks the official countdown to Christmas. and we will be kicking it off with this advent calendar that T's mom made us. Each day we'll add to the tree ending with an angel at the top. I think I might be more excited than Baby G, but hopefully it will become something he loves to do too.

wire letters
After my friends wedding, I'm loving these wire letters. She used 3 T's throughout her reception decor. They're so simple and that's what I love. They aren't too frilly either and can easily add a little fun to the home decor. or Baby G's nursery!

lemon drop party favor
Recently I organized a little "Dinner & Drinks with the Bachelorette" evening in Athens for this pretty lady who is getting married in two weeks!
When you google bachelorette party favors, the #1 result always has something to do with male parts. Well I wanted to make something a little classier than that...
So I came up with this little cocktail favor.
Supplies:
Small Glasses (we used these from IKEA)
Smirnoff Citrus, airplane bottles
Lemonheads
Yellow Starbursts
Cellophane Wrap
Small party favor bags, clear
Divine Twine, black and white
Recipe tags (or any tags you want to add, we had a total of 3 - lemon wedge, recipe, and a thank you)
Simply put 1 airplane bottle of alcohol, some lemonheads (I pre-portioned some in the little favor bags since I couldn't find individually wrapped candies), and some starbursts in each glass. Then wrap in cellophane and tie with the twine. Then attach all the little tags and voila - a fun little cocktail favor.
They were a big hit!

vote for Baby G!
Yep, we've become those parents - we entered Baby G into the GAP Casting Call. We weren't going to do it at first, but then the possibility of just winning a big (as in $1000 big) GAP gift card made it seem worth while (and that's not even the grand prize!). and seriously, who wouldn't want this baby representing GAP? He's so dang cute! and he sits now!
So above are the 5 photos we entered into the contest (each photo a separate entry). If you want, you can vote for Baby G here, here, here, here, and here. YOU CAN VOTE FOR EACH PHOTO ONCE PER DAY - through November 14. That's a lot of votes!
Wish us luck!

fruit salsa
My favorite salsa has to be the mango salsa from Black Cat Burrito, one of my most favorite restaurants in Boone, NC. I get cravings for their delicious burritos often and it makes me miss Boone even more. If you're ever in the area, it's a must try restaurant.
With that said, I'm going to have to try this mixed stone fruit salsa. It looks delicious and will hopefully hit the spot when I'm in need of some Black Cat.

play table
We got a pottery barn kids catalog in the mail the other day and I'm loving it! This play table is something I'd really like, but it's way too expensive. So T is going to draw one up in Sketch Up and we're gong to build our own. Now when will this happen? Who knows, but we at least have a little time before Baby G needs a play table.

paint your own pillow
Using tape and fabric paint, Jessica from How About Orange painted her own fabric which she then sewed into that beautiful pillow cover. How cool is that? I love the simple design, but I really love that she left the tape edges raw - giving it a little more character.
Such a great idea! and coming up with your own design seems like half the fun!
So grab some tape and fabric paint and go paint your own fabric.

DO FUN STUFF
You all may remember Ryan Marshall from this series of photos. Well now he's on a huge mission and I'm here to help the cause.
This album, which is a mix of both kid songs and kid friendly songs that all parents are sure to like, is available for purchase from itunes. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this album goes to a grant fund that Ryan set up with PRISMS. The money will be made available to graduate students who wish to make SMS their field of choice. The end goal being more research and more answers for parents and researchers.
If you'd like to help out as well, visit do fun stuff and click on 'share this widget' for the widget code and make a post of your own. Help spread the word. or if you only have Facebook or Twitter, just post a link to DO FUN STUFF and/or Ryan's blog Pacing the Panic Room.
If purchasing the album just doesn't do it for you and you want to make an additional monetary donation, just click on the link in the lower right hand corner of the widget.
Thanks Everyone!

Not just letters & numbers either, she'll turn doodles into fonts too! Perfect for people like me who just can't doodle.
