centerpieces!!

When I first saw these on Once Wed, I knew I had to make them. I love love LOVE this idea for a centerpiece (but I think I kind of love the ribbon even more). I was so stoked to give it a shot. After many unsuccessful trials of trying to find the little cube vases, we settled on small 1.5 ounce jars. Slowly the idea has evolved into something slightly different from my first inspiration. We decided to go with a gerber daisy too ♥
[the ribbon isn't quite as snazzy either]

[but i'm slowly growing fond of them]
We'll probably be tweaking a few things, but generally we're pleased with the idea (and just ignore all the clutter in the background).

lighting

I've always been a huge fan of the globe lanterns. We initially thought we would hang them in the pavilion, but my m.o.h. was browsing Martha's website again and came upon this lovely idea. It incorporates the things I love, but uniquely puts them together in columns. I think we might give this a shot and use flower pots as our base. Thanks to the best m.o.h. EVER!

our final venue choice

After what seemed like months of researching, we finally found a venue that fit what we were looking for - something simple. Our venue is in Vinings at the Old Pace House and Pavilion. We're really excited about the potential of this venue with all of our decoration ideas.

meet logan and tim

I guess it's about time I share a little information about Tim, my fiance, and I. Tim is originally from the lovely town of Lenoir, NC. I, on the other hand, am a home grown Georgia Peach. Both of us attended Appalachian State University in the lovely town of Boone, NC. He graduated in 2001 with a degree in industrial drafting and design, while I graduated in 2006 with a degree in mathematics. We met the night before my graduation through a mutual friend and have been inseparable since, except for the fact that he lived in Savannah for the first six months of our relationship. At the time, he was attending SCAD, working on his Masters of Architecture.

Now Tim works for an architect in Buckhead and I work at the CDC in the Strep Lab.

We both enjoy watching the Braves (especially when they're winning), cooking, DIY projects, and spoiling our puppy Charlie.

flowers

I'm loving these gerber daisies.

the wonderful world of yarn

I call myself the seasonal knitter because I can never find the reason to sit down during the warm months to knit. But now that the first day of autumn has passed, I find myself getting overly excited about the winter knitting months to come. Hopefully I'll be able to find time amidst all of the wedding madness.

A few of my favorites from last season...

there's nothing like homemade paper, right?

That's exactly what I thought!! But to make things even better, what if your paper grew into something beautiful?

These past couple of weeks, I've been developing my paper making skills after finding directions on how to make seed paper. Thank you urban debris!! After a few trial and error sessions, modifying the directions, and making quite a mess, I've finally perfected my technique and coloring methods.

These dainty little hearts will adorn our wedding favors as the perfect little gift tags. We hope our guests will plant the paper and watch the flowers blossom into life. Check back to see the final product as we decide on our favors.
