share the love

So I saw this in a MS Magazine a long time ago and thought it might be fun to incorporate it into our wedding. We'll be talking to our officient about it tomorrow.

So most of you might be familiar with palmona's nest and her lovely text bowls. Well since I was taking a pottery class, I made my own version of a ring bowl using a small rubber stamp set I purchased from michaels. I'm thinking we'll tie our rings in the bowl and have our guests pass the bowl to share the love.
Now I just need to come up with a cute saying for this part of the wedding and to maybe help explain why I'm doing it. Any help would be appreciated. and I can't decide if I like 'love' better or 'amor'. What do you guys think?

finished project!

Remember those napkin rings...from way back when...the very first wedding project I started...

Well I finally finished!! After sewing for what seemed like forever, they're done - all 100.

banner idea

I'm totally loving the looks of this banner as seen on hellohandmadepaperie. I think I might create a similar banner for the wedding, either as our 'just married' banner or maybe as a banner to hang over the cake table. It's too cute!

a crafting weekend

This past weekend I had some quality time with my m.o.h. in Athens. I showed her how to make pom poms and she became a pom pom machine! We're hoping to make enough for guests to toss at T and I as we're leaving the reception. Since I'm a knitter/crocheter, we totally dig the idea. What are you having guests toss at your departure??

In addition to pom poms, magnets are my new thing. They're an easy project with wonderful results. The Obama magnets are for my dad as a christmas gift. The adorably cute animal magnets will adorn our refrigerator. I have loads of other magnets that I'll be packaging as gifts this christmas...they're my something handmade. Everyone loves magnets! (or at least I do!)

centerpieces!!

When I first saw these on Once Wed, I knew I had to make them. I love love LOVE this idea for a centerpiece (but I think I kind of love the ribbon even more). I was so stoked to give it a shot. After many unsuccessful trials of trying to find the little cube vases, we settled on small 1.5 ounce jars. Slowly the idea has evolved into something slightly different from my first inspiration. We decided to go with a gerber daisy too ♥

We'll probably be tweaking a few things, but generally we're pleased with the idea (and just ignore all the clutter in the background).

lighting

I've always been a huge fan of the globe lanterns. We initially thought we would hang them in the pavilion, but my m.o.h. was browsing Martha's website again and came upon this lovely idea. It incorporates the things I love, but uniquely puts them together in columns. I think we might give this a shot and use flower pots as our base. Thanks to the best m.o.h. EVER!

Look at these beautiful clusters of color!! You'll soon come to realize that I'm a huge fan of once wed. Once I saw these on Emily's lovely blog, I knew I wanted to make them for our wedding.

buttons buttons buttons galore!!

The past two days have been filled with covering buttons for my napkin rings. Look at these beauties!! The addition of pale blue ribbon will be the perfect touch.

In addition to covering all 100 buttons, my fiance and I decided on our wedding photographer, Lisette Price. We couldn't be more excited!

Here, I hope to share with you details about our upcoming wedding and all the adventures along the way.


To start things off, I arrived home today to find the aluminum cover buttons I ordered from the oh-so-cute marymarsh. So exciting!! I hope to create these beautiful napkin rings, as seen on emily's wonderful website oncewed. This is by far one of my most favorite websites. It's so inspiring!!
